Why teams switch

Three things a footfall counter can't tell you

Coverage 93%

Of US retail, one panel

Thousands of brands and millions of locations measured the same way, so a national benchmark and a single store benchmark come from the same source.

Depth $1T+

In transactions, not just doors

Spend adds card transaction data and Trips adds journey and parking behaviour — so you can tell genuine purchasing power from short-term traffic noise.

Consistency 1

Definition across three surfaces

Almanac, Otto and Atlas resolve to the same governed metrics. Change a competitive set once and every surface reflects it — dashboard, assistant and warehouse.

Our data

Common questions

What is the data actually built on?
Consented, anonymised mobile location signals combined with card transaction data from one of the world's largest providers, plus journey and parking data. Six-plus years of history, covering 93% of US retail. Nothing personally identifying enters the platform — outputs are aggregated to store, brand and market level.
How is a trade area defined?
By observed visitor origin, not a fixed radius. Each store gets a home-location distribution across ZIP codes and block groups, so a transit-fed flagship and a car-borne power centre read differently — which is the point.
How often does it update?
Dashboards update daily. Atlas feeds deliver by API or cloud share on your schedule, and include a 90-day forward-looking visitor estimate.
Can I benchmark against a custom competitive set?
Yes. Define a market by geography, by category, or by an explicit list of competing brands, then benchmark against national, state or another market's average. Sets are saved, so a benchmark quoted in March reproduces exactly in September.
How does this sit alongside our own POS data?
PassBy supplies the external half. Join visits and trade-area data to your transactions on store ID and week to separate a conversion movement from a traffic movement — the single most common cause of a misread trading period.
Which tools does Otto work in?
Inside Almanac, and inside Copilot, Claude and ChatGPT. Ask in plain language, get an answer grounded in the same data, and export to tables or slide-ready output.
What does it cost?
Pricing scales with estate size, market coverage and delivery surface — Essential for Dashboards, Locations, Brands and Markets; Premium adds Spend, Trips and Otto; Ultimate adds Atlas. Send us your store list and we'll quote against it.
